Welcome to Churutt Cafe, a cozy gem nestled right next to the bustling bus stand on Old M C Rd in Ettumanoor, Kerala. This quaint cafe is the go-to spot for both locals and visitors craving an unforgettable culinary experience—specifically, its renowned shawarmas.

The cafe boasts a unique twist on traditional shawarma, particularly with its Churutt special. Unlike the conventional khuboos, the Churutt special is wrapped in a delicate Rumali roti that adds an extra dimension of flavor and texture. Each bite reveals a lavish filling of expertly marinated meat, complemented by crispy fries and a subtle touch of light mayo. The array of spices enhances the richness of the meat, rendering it both satisfying and flavorful. Customers like Anoop Vyasan rave about it, noting it as “one of the best shawarmas in town” and even recommending their new mojito for a refreshing accompaniment.

For those who prefer a classic post-work pick-me-up, Churutt Cafe offers an enticing selection of milkshakes and cold coffee options. From the rich decadence of Chocolate and Oreo milkshakes to the tropical allure of a Tender Coconut shake, there’s something for everyone. Each drink is crafted with care, promising a delightful union of flavors that are sure to quench your thirst and ignite your taste buds.

The ambiance at Churutt Cafe is another highlight. Recently renovated, the interior is designed to be inviting and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for a quick outing or a relaxed meal with friends. Customer Vishnu Ashok describes it as “awesome,” and it truly offers a cozy retreat from the hustle and bustle of the street outside. While it’s a small joint, the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, ensuring you feel like part of the Churutt family.

However, the feedback from regulars like Joel Tony signals a desire for expansion among the menu offerings. While the cafe has its standouts, like the signature Chicken Peratt, there’s a growing hope for additional dishes that can further elevate the dining experience. It’s this spirit of community and growth that makes Churutt Cafe so special—a place where customers not only enjoy great food but also feel heard and valued.

So whether you're stopping by for their celebrated shawarma, grabbing a revitalizing milkshake, or savoring a well-crafted cold coffee, Churutt Cafe promises an experience that tantalizes the taste buds and warms the heart. Stop by and discover why this little cafe has captured the hearts (and appetites) of many!

Ordered 30+ times from here. Special shawarma is fabulous. Lots of fillings and sauces and no cabbage. It was great when they used to have grilled chicken. The chicken peratt they have instead is a strange one for sure. I order less from here now because of the limited menu options. Please do bring in some new items to freshen up the menu.

This is a small joint in a very busy street. It's right next to the bus stand. Parking can be a problem during the day. We tried the Churutt special shawarma which is made from Rumali roti instead of khuboos. This is a whole meat shawarma with crispy fries and light mayo. The meat was flavourful and you can taste various spices on it. I personally don't mind a little bit of veggies in my shawarma to cut through all the meat. They give pickled veggies and ketchup as accompaniment. The packing is also great. There's very little space to sit inside the cafe so we preferred to have it take away. Overall I found they were good. Would recommend it. Anyway I feel shawarma is an overrated food in Kerala.
